Upgrade Complete!

by on Dec.08, 2009, under Watercrown Productions

Well, I finally broke down and upgraded my 110MB.com account. And about time, too: 110MB.com is switching over to a subscription-based model for its premium upgrades. Thankfully, they’re still offering lifetime premium upgrades for a one-time payment (if you know where to look), so if you’re interested in getting a fully-featured website of your own, you had better act fast.

What does this mean for the site itself? Not a whole lot at present, but it does open some doors.

For one, 15GB is a lot of space. Tripod (remember the old DevBlog?) gave me only 20MB (that’s megabytes, not gigabytes). Google Pages, God rest its soul, gave me 100MB (and some serious bandwidth headaches). 110MB gives you 110MB (duh) for a free account, but 15GB…I mean, wow. I could back up my first two computers with that much space and still have enough left over to install an MMORPG or two.

For another, it means I can finally use the contact page that came bundled with Flatpress. If you want to drop me a line, just hit the Contact link under the Navigation menu on the right.

And for those of you who missed the Murakumo OP Music Video and Doom: Repercussions of Evil – Dramatic Version, those are back up and running. (Technically, they never left, but I hadn’t upgraded the pages like the rest of the site.) For those who didn’t catch, free 110MB.com accounts have certain file types blocked, so you can’t upload, say, WMA video or MP3 files. But premium accounts can do anything. In fact, I can now embed media in my pages; I couldn’t do anything of the sort with Google Pages, so now the Watercrown Productions Home Page is officially 110% (or is that 15,000%?) more awesome than before.

I’m also thinking of setting up my own forum, for the purposes of discussing my past, present and future projects.

Hopefully, I’ll have more to update about in the near future – project updates, reviews, opinions and more stuff for the gallery. Enjoy!
